The now famous photo of a drowned 3-year-old Syrian boy, whose body was found face down on a Turkish beach, captured the horrific and dangerous reality for refugees fleeing from conflict zones to safer havens in Europe.
Many analysts argue that the recent intensity of the refugee migration crisis has been caused by many Western (and Middle Eastern) nations refusing to allow refugees to enter their countries through legal means, putting the onus on Western governments to open their borders to more people. For example, an estimated 4 million Syrians have fled their homeland since 2011 and only about 1,500 refugees have resettled in America. Should Western nations, including the U.S., accept more refugees from conflict zones?
