Christians and Muslims from around the world gathered in Beirut, Lebanon, for a summit to discuss peace and justice between the two religious communities. The summit, whose theme was “Christians and Muslims Building Justice and Peace Together in a Violent, Changing World,” aimed to call religious communities, governments and civil societies worldwide to “take effective and just action in response to discrimination, marginalization and violence against religious communities, whether or not they might be a majority or minority population.” The previous such meeting was held in the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. in 2010.
